Author Novala Takemoto, best known for writing the novel "Shimotsuma Monogatari" that was adapted as the movie "Kamikaze Girls," has been arrested for possession of cannabis.
Takemoto was stopped by a police officer on Sunday evening while he walking alone in Shinjuku's Kabukicho district. The officer took him in for questioning after discovering the cannabis. During questioning, Takemoto reportedly admitted to using the drug.
