Two concerts on Monday by pop singer Aya Matsuura were cancelled for medical reasons. She was experiencing pain in her jaw, determined to be caused by temporomandibular joint disorder. Doctors examining her decided that she could not perform in her condition. She was scheduled to perform during the day and at night in Sagamihara, Kanagawa. It remains to be seen whether she will recover in time for two concerts later this month in Tokyo and a concert next month in Gunma.
She appeared at a press conference today regarding the TBS special drama "Inochi no Kiseki," which airs on the 15th. During the conference, she apologized for the cancellations.
