The winner of the 28th Nihon SF Taisho (organized by the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of Japan) was announced on Saturday. The winning work is Hazuki Saisho's "Shinichi Hoshi: Issen-ichi Hanashi wo Tsukutta Hito," a non-fiction book about the prolific sci-fi novelist Shinichi Hoshi, who died in 1997. The award includes 2 million yen in prize money.
The 9th Nihon SF Shinjinsho (for new authors) was also announced. Yuka Nakazato's "Kuro Juuji Sanatorium" and Masato Kuroba's "Uchuu Saibou" were the two winners. Each author gets 500,000 yen in prize money.
The awards presentation will take place on March 7 in Tokyo.
