Author Keiichiro Hirano and model/designer Haruka have married, and on Saturday they held their wedding at Meiji Shrine in Shibuya, Tokyo.
In 1999, Hirano published his debut novel "Nisshoku," which made him one of the youngest winners of the Akutagawa Prize at the age of 23. Meanwhile, Haruka has been an image model for Kanebo Cosmetics for more than 10 years, and last year she started designing for a wedding dress brand that she established.
The two 32-year-olds met in 2006 at a party, and they found they had many things in common, including the fact that they were both born in the Aichi prefecture only two days apart.
Sources close to the couple say that Haruka is not pregnant, and she will continue working as a model.
