Aika Nanao, a 29-year-old caster for NTV's "NEWS ZERO," revealed on her blog on Thursday that she got married this past March. Her husband is a 32-year-old political reporter. They first met ten years ago while they were both studying at Tokyo University, but they went their separate ways after graduation. They reunited by chance last year during a news assignment, and their romance was born.
Nanao is the daughter of a diplomat and has lived in various countries, including the U.S. (she was born in Washington, D.C.), Switzerland, and Korea. The multilingual newscaster (aside from Japanese, she speaks English, French, and Spanish) says she plans to continue working. The couple will hold a ceremony and reception this summer.
