Mamoru Oshii's 1995 animated film "Ghost in the Shell" is coming back to theaters in Japan, starting on July 12. While the story has not changed, the movie has been entirely converted to digital format and relabeled as "Ghost in the Shell 2.0" to signify the visual upgrade.
The film's audio track has also been updated to 6.1 surround sound, done in collaboration with Lucasfilm's Skywalker Sound division.
