Management agency Horipro and sports club Central Sports completed their first Fitness Talento Audition, looking for a new face to become a "sports idol." On Sunday, third-year university student Moe Hinoki became the grand prize winner.
More than 5,200 women applied for the title. Hinoki, 21, is said to be enthusiastic about aerobics and works out at her local Central Sports gym five times a week.
Olympic gymnast Hiroyuki Tomita presented Hinoki with a gold medal. In addition to a prize of 1 million yen, she will be signed to Horipro and become an advertising model for Central Sports.
