Former AKB48 member Kayano Masuyama will appear in her first daytime drama series this fall. She has been cast in Fuji TV's "Aishuu no Romera," which was announced earlier this month.
The series stars Aiko Ito as the tragic heroine Tamaki, whose father died in an accident and whose younger brother suffers from poor health. She finally meets her first love, the son of a hospital director. When she discovers that the man's father had an affair with her mother and was the reason for her mother's suicide, she begins plotting for revenge. Masuyama will be playing the part of Tamaki during her younger days.
Masuyama made her acting debut last year when she co-starred with model Yukika Teramoto in the drama series "ChocoMimi."
"Aishuu no Romera" will air on weekdays at 1:30pm, beginning on September 29.
