Actor Tetsuji Tamayama will star in a WOWOW suspense series titled "Prisoner," airing this fall. The drama is based on a true story of a Japanese man falsely imprisoned in Thailand who attempts to escape from jail. His character is an ex-teacher named Keigo who has to use his wits to break out.
The supporting cast includes Mayu Tsuruta as a magazine reporter, Nao Omori as a suspicious foreigner, and Mayumi Sada as an interpreter. Filming started in late July in Thailand with cooperation from the navy. About half of the staff and cast are Thai, and dialogue is spoken in Japanese, Thai, and English.
WOWOW will begin airing "Prisoner" in November.
