Actor Jun Kaname and singer Hitomi Shimatani are co-starring in a movie called "Parallel," directed by Kazuaki Muto.
The film is based on the life of Kazuyuki Kyoya, a former J League soccer player whose legs were paralyzed in a car accident in 1993, forcing him to quit the sport. Despite the tragedy, he has since gone on to become a role model as a member of Japan's national wheelchair basketball team.
Kaname is playing the role of Kyoya, while Shimatani has been cast as Kyoya's supportive wife Yoko. Shimatani is also handling the movie's theme song, titled "SMILES."
