Megumi Ohori, the oldest member of idol unit AKB48 at the age of 25, recently revealed that she has been having problems with her family due to a controversial publicity campaign.

In October, Ohori made her solo debut with a single titled "Amai Kokansetsu." However, AKB48 producer Yasushi Akimoto had given her the condition that she had to sell 10,000 copies in a month, or else she would be forced to graduate from the group.

Ohori managed to avoid graduation, but to help increase sales, she participated in several "hug events" at various stores. These were like typical "handshake events," except that she treated fans to embraces rather than handshakes.

Her father felt that she was being too desperate in her actions, and told her, "You're not my child. Get out of this house." Ohori said she has become lonely as result, but explained that she had no choice in order to gain approval and succeed in the entertainment world.
