According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox International is in negotiations to produce a live-action film based on Ai Yazawa's fashion-focused josei manga "Paradise Kiss." Fox plans to make the movie in Japanese, making it their second Japanese-language film after their remake of "Sideways."
The five-volume "Paradise Kiss" revolves around a high school girl who becomes pulled into the world of fashion modeling. It was turned into an anime series in 2005.
Fox has reportedly set a target budget of $3 to $4 million. They are looking to work with Japanese production house IMJ Entertainment, which also handled the popular movie versions of Yazawa's "NANA."
