Hiromi Yasuda (35), better known as "Dancho" ("leader") of the comedy trio Yasuda Dai Circus, had to undergo emergency surgery earlier this week. He was suffering from testicular torsion, which can result in the death of a testicle after several hours.
According to Yasuda's management, the comedian experienced stomach pains on Wednesday morning. He went to a nearby hospital for an examination, but the doctor was unable to determine the cause of the pain. He was then taken by ambulance to another hospital, where the torsion in his left testicle was diagnosed. He immediately received surgery, which lasted about an hour. He is said to currently be in healthy condition.
Yasuda said that he still has some pain, but is relieved that the operation was successful. He may be allowed to leave the hospital in a couple days, and may return to work after a few days of rest.
