The online game "Character Wars" ("Character Daisakusen") is welcoming a new addition on Saturday - Yoshiki of X Japan. He will be the first member of the band to appear in the game, with the others scheduled to follow starting next month.
"Character Wars" is a real-time strategy game themed around the Three Kingdoms. Players control individual heroes in competitive matches ranging from 1-on-1 to 5-on-5. Each hero has its own unique skills, which improve as the players develop their heroes.
The game's creators have plans to bring "Character Wars" to other countries, and are aiming to collaborate with well-known people and characters. Yoshiki will be the first to be added to the game, starting on July 18 at 6:00pm. Vocalist TOSHI and the late guitarist HIDE will reportedly be the next ones to appear, starting in August.
A few released images depict Yoshiki's character playing piano and drums, though the details of how those abilities will affect the game are still unknown. Players will be able to use the character forever after purchasing it for 2000 yen.
