Screen Daily has word that director Ryuhei Kitamura ("Versus," "Midnight Meat Train") has another Hollywood project in the works. He has been chosen to helm an adaptation based on the comic book character "Magdalena," created by Top Cow Productions.
The movie's basic premise revolves around "the protector of the Catholic Church who is descended from Christ's bloodline and wields the Spear Of Destiny as her weapon of choice." Magdalena first appeared in Top Cow's series "The Darkness" in 1998.
Jenna Dewan and Luke Goss have already been announced as the stars. Holly Brix is handling the script.
