Rock band Maximum the Hormone has canceled its upcoming performances, starting with two sets at the Rising Sun Rock Festival on August 14 and 15. It was announced on the band's official website that guitarist and vocalist Ryo Kawakita has been infected with the influenza A(H1N1) virus, commonly known as "swine flu."
In addition to the Rising Sun Rock Festival, the band had shows scheduled in Tokyo and Shiga for August 18 and 20, respectively. Those will be rescheduled depending on Kawakita's recovery.
