The finals of the 6th D-BOYS audition were held on Sunday. Out of more than 24,000 applicants, 14-year-old Shintaro Akutsu took the grand prize, becoming the audition's youngest winner ever.
Akutsu is said to bear a resemblance to golfer Ryo Ishikawa (17), which led his female classmates to suggest that he should audition. Described as an "otomen," Akutsu revealed that he enjoys cooking and handicrafts. But during the competition, he showed that he also is skilled at dancing.
The Semi-Grand Prix winner was high school student Ryosuke Ikeoka (16). Two special judges' awards were given to Yoichiro Oumi (20) and Ryuichi Tanigawa (10).
