GQ Japan presented its Men of the Year 2009 awards on Wednesday, marking the magazine's fourth time to hold the awards. This time, the honorees included Sho Sakurai (27) of the popular group Arashi, which has experienced a very strong year in terms of sales and popularity. Last year, fellow member Jun Matsumoto (26) was also one of the winners.
Besides Sakurai, the winners were rakugo artist and actor Tsurube Shofukutei (57), who has received multiple Best Actor awards for the movie "Dear Doctor"; Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma (28); playwright and director Koki Mitani (48); and McDonald's Japan CEO Eiko Harada (61).
