17-year-old Tantan Hayashi, who won the 11th All-Japan National Young Beauty Contest last year, has been chosen to play the female lead in a new movie by director Jianqi Huo. The film, titled “Zen,” is a joint production between Chinese and Japanese studios.
This is the first movie role for Hayashi, who is half-Japanese, half-Chinese. The picture is slated for a fall 2008 release.
