Ikimono Gakari vocalist to narrate “BUNGO”

Kiyoe Yoshioka (25), the vocalist of popular band Ikimono Gakari, is taking on her first narration role for “BUNGO -Nihon Bungaku Cinema-,” a short drama project to be aired on TBS next month.

“BUNGO,” announced last month, consists of six 30-minute adaptations of short stories by famous Japanese authors, such as Osamu Dazai, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, and Junichiro Tanizaki. Each will feature a different cast, including Asami Mizukawa (26), Ryuta Sato (29), Hiroki Narimiya (27), and Rosa Kato (24).

Yoshioka will narrate all six stories. In addition, Ikimono Gakari’s “Mahiru no Tsuki” (from their latest album “Hajimari no Uta”) will be used as the drama’s theme song.

“BUNGO” will air on TBS and BS-TBS in February. It will also be shown in theaters during the early summer.
