Jicho Kacho’s Junichi Komoto hospitalized

Yoshimoto Creative Agency announced on Tuesday that comedian Junichi Komoto (35), part of the duo Jicho Kacho, has been diagnosed with pancreatitis. As a result, he plans to take a two-month break from work to check into a hospital and receive treatment.

The company stated that Komoto has been in the hospital since October 6 after experiencing symptoms such as fever and a stomachache. A detailed examination revealed that he has pancreatitis. Although he is expected to recover after two months, his release from the hospital and his return to work will depend on his condition.

Komoto’s comedy partner Satoshi Inoue (34) will continue work as usual, though the duo will be replaced at the “LIVE STAND 2010″ comedy event in Osaka on October 15-17.
