Kana Ito leaves SDN48 for health reasons

SDN48 member Kana Ito (24) has left the group for now, it has been learned. Since late January, Ito has been in poor health due to influenza, so she has put all of her activities in show business on hold.

In a message from Ito posted on the group’s blog, she thanked her supportive fans, the group’s staff, and her fellow members. She also apologized for causing trouble and concern over her health.

Ito’s message suggested that she may return after her health improves, though she did not indicate how long that will take.

Ito has been a member of SDN48 since its start in 2009. She was one of the group’s more popular members, as she received enough votes in the Senbatsu election to be included on their major debut single “GAGAGA” last November.
