Karina, Kuroki continue “Real Clothes” fashion battle

Last week, it was learned that Satoru Makimura’s manga “Real Clothes” is being adapted as a live-action series. More details have now been made public, including confirmation that it will be a sequel to the one-episode drama that aired on Fuji TV last year.

The original drama adaptation starred Karina as the protagonist Kinue, an unfashionable saleswoman at a department store who gets transferred to the women’s clothing department. There, she works under a stylish boss (Hitomi Kuroki), which forces her to change her lifestyle and fashion sense.

Both actresses will reprise their roles for the new series. Karina’s older sisters Anna Nose and Erena, who are also models like her, are returning as well.

Filming starts next month and will include scenes shot in Paris and at the Isetan department store in Shinjuku. Fuji TV plans to broadcast the drama on Tuesdays at 10:00pm, beginning October 13.
