Katsumi Takahashi to host Radio Charity Musicthon

Nippon Broadcasting System has unveiled its choice of host for this year’s Radio Charity Musicthon. Actor Katsumi Takahashi (48) will serve as the main personality and will be joined by several popular actresses throughout the event.

The charity fundraiser has been held annually since 1975, making this its 35th year. As always, the musicthon will commence at noon on December 24 and last a full 24 hours.

Takahashi’s co-hosts will be Aya Ueto, Masami Nagasawa, Saki Fukuda, Asami Mizukawa, Mami Yamase, and Ryoko Yonekura, each taking turns to help lead the program. Both Ueto and Yamase have experience with the musicthon – Ueto hosted in 2006 and Yamase co-hosted in 1990.

Besides Takahashi and the actresses, several other actors and comedians will participate in the event.
