Kenichi Hagiwara’s new love is Rika Tomita

The big news in this week’s issue of Josei Seven is that actor Kenichi Hagiwara (60) is in a relationship with “housewife model” Rika Tomita (48). On Wednesday, reporters rushed to Hagiwara’s home in Yokohama to verify the story, while Tomita’s agency revealed that she recently divorced her husband (52).

The press waited for about five hours outside Hagiwara’s home before he returned from a work appointment. When they asked him to comment on Josei Seven’s claim that he and Tomita are currently living together, Hagiwara denied it. However, he acknowledged that some parts of Josei Seven’s article were true. In fact, Hagiwara announced that he was planning to formally confess his feelings to Tomita the next day and ask her to become his girlfriend.

According to the magazine, Tomita has been seen many times in Hagiwara’s neighborhood, and they were also photographed holding hands while on a date in Yokohama’s Chinatown area. The two met last November for an article in a beauty magazine. Tomita is said to be a big fan of Hagiwara, and as a result they got along very well from the start.

Hagiwara, also known by the nickname Sho-ken from his days as the lead singer of The Tempters, has been married three times before, including once to actress Ayumi Ishida (62).
