Kento Nagayama stars in “Soft Boy”

Actor Kento Nagayama (20), who is the younger brother of Eita (26), will take on his first starring role with the movie “Soft Boy,” directed by Keisuke Toyoshima. He and Kento Kaku (20) will play members of a male softball team.

The movie is apparently based on a true story of Ushizu High School in the Saga prefecture. In his last year of high school, Noguchi (Kaku) discovers that there isn’t a single male softball club in the entire prefecture. He convinces his childhood friend Onitsuka (Nagayama) that if they create a club, they’ll easily be able to make it to the national tournament. They eventually gather enough members, and the group of amateurs begins training with the goal of winning a game in the tournament.

The Japan Softball Association is reportedly helping out with the film. The cast members began practicing in August, in preparation for filming. “Soft Boy” will be released during the early summer of 2010.
