The Annecy International Animated Film Festival, often referred to as the “Cannes of animation,” came to a close on Saturday. This year, Kunio Kato’s “Tsumiki no Ie” was awarded The Annecy Cristal, the festival’s highest honor. The piece also won the Junior Jury Award in the short film category.
The 12-minute film depicts an aging man, living in a house made of blocks, as he reflects upon the memories of his family.
