Actress Manami Konishi has had a couple roles in the past as a doctor or nurse, but now she will be stepping up to play a hospital director. She will star in TV Asahi’s medical drama “Shoni Kyumei ~Kodomotachi no Tame ni, Sono Mirai no Tame ni~” this fall.
In recent years, many large hospitals have been forced to close their pediatrics departments, leading to a shortage of medical attention available to children across Japan. Konishi plays a doctor who leaves a large hospital to start a children’s hospital.
