Masaki Nishina, Hanako Takigawa nearing marriage

This week’s issue of FRIDAY revealed that actor Masaki Nishina (27) and talento Hanako Takigawa (21) are in a serious relationship. Nishina followed up the news with a press conference on Friday, announcing that the reports are true, and that he and Takigawa are preparing for engagement.

Both come from a family of celebrities. Nishina is the son of actor Hiroki Matsukata (67) and actress Akiko Nishina (56), who are also the parents of talento Hitomi Nishina. On the other hand, Takigawa is the daughter of actress Yumi Takigawa (58) and former actor and management agency president Shinsuke Achiha (the couple divorced in 1997 and Achiha passed away in 2007).

Nishina and Takigawa first met about seven years ago, though they didn’t see each other again until last summer. Their reunion led to romance, and they soon began considering marriage. Like many other celebrity couples, they went on a trip for the New Year’s holiday, spending five days in Guam.

Although Nishina acknowledged that they are close to being engaged, he did not indicate a date for their wedding.
