Melon Kinenbi to break up

Idol group Melon Kinenbi has announced that they will be disbanding. The news came during a concert on Friday night, commemorating the 10th anniversary of their debut single “Amai Anata no Aji.”

Their management at Up-Front Agency said that the group’s members expressed their desire to end their activities during this 10th anniversary year, and after much discussion with the staff, the breakup became official.

Melon Kinenbi plans to cease activities after their upcoming tour, which starts in Osaka on April 24 and ends in Tokyo on May 3.
