Michiko Hada, Yoko Nogiwa co-star in daytime drama

Michiko Hada (42) and Yoko Nogiwa (74) are co-starring in an upcoming daytime drama series on Fuji TV. Titled “Hanayome Noren,” the show is another take on the bride-versus-mother-in-law setup.

Set in a long-standing Japanese inn, Hada plays the modern woman who finds herself at odds with the traditional culture of her mother-in-law (Nogiwa). For Hada, this is her first time appearing in a daytime drama. On the other hand, this role gives Nogiwa the record of oldest heroine ever in that Fuji TV time slot (weekdays 1:30pm).

“Hanayome Noren” premieres on November 1.
