Actor Yutaka Mizutani (56), perhaps best known for his co-starring role in the detective series “Aibou,” will star in a one-shot drama special on Fuji TV. Tentatively titled “Dareka ga Uso wo Tsuiteiru,” the drama will revolve around a false accusation of groping, similar to Masayuki Suo’s award-winning film “Soredemo Boku wa Yattenai.”
Mizutani plays a salaryman arrested on charges of groping a high school girl on a train. He pleads innocent, but during the opening trial he is found guilty by the judge. As he appeals the decision and continues his battle against the false accusation, the drama takes a documentary-like look at the people surrounding the case, including his family.
