“Mori no Asagao” manga gets drama adaptation

Mamora Goda’s manga series “Mori no Asagao” will be turned into a live-action drama series on TV Tokyo this fall.

The award-winning manga depicts the friendship between a criminal awaiting the death penalty and a rookie prison guard. It was serialized in Futabasha’s Manga Action from 2004 to 2007 and has been collected into seven volumes. Last year, it was announced that a movie adaptation was in the works.

The “Mori no Asagao” drama will start in October. The time slot and cast details will be announced at a later date.
