Narumi, Narimiya together in another drama

Fuji TV has announced the production of a drama special titled “Nadeshiko Tai,” based on the lives of the real Nadeshiko Tai during World War II.

The story is set in Chiran, Kagoshima, the site of a secret base used to launch kamikaze missions during the war. At the time, a group of young girls known as the Nadeshiko Tai were gathered to help out at the base. The drama will be part documentary, based on the experiences of 78-year-old Shoko Nagasaki, a survivor of the Nadeshiko Tai.

Riko Narumi is playing the role of Nagasaki at the age of 15, while Hiroki Narimiya plays a member of the kamikaze squad. The two last worked together in Fuji TV’s adaptation of “Honey and Clover.” Other cast members include Hiroko Yakushimaru, Emi Wakui, Yoshiko Nakada, Satomi Tezuka, and Masanobu Katsumura.

“Nadeshiko Tai” will air this September.
