Natsuki Kato sues former manager
Actress Natsuki Kato (24) has taken her former manager and boyfriend to court, it has been learned. The man is said to have stolen approximately 30 million yen from her during the time they were together.
Between May 2006 and February 2009, the man worked as Kato’s manager, and the two were also dating during that time. According to the lawsuit, the man persuaded Kato to let him open a savings account for her. Using her bankbook, he told Kato that he was putting her money into the account, but instead was actually spending it on pachinko and women.
Kato apparently tried to break things off with him after about a year, but she remained in the relationship after he threatened to publicly reveal that they were dating.
This past February, the actress finally consulted her agency’s president about the problem. When questioned, the man reportedly admitted to the misappropriation, but he refused to repay the money and further threatened to expose her. The man’s parents are said to have also become involved in the dispute.
The matter was taken to the court in late August. A hearing was held on October 9, but the defendant denied the claims. A representative from Kato’s agency said that they are also considering filing criminal charges.
