TV Asahi’s long-running detective drama “Aibou” opened its 7th season on Wednesday. According to viewership data, the show achieved ratings of 17.9%. This is the best premiere the franchise has ever had, and it is also one of the highest-rated episodes in the show’s history.
“Aibou” proved its popularity earlier this year, when the movie version set the records for the highest box office gross and attendance numbers of the first half of 2008. The new television series has also drawn lots of attention due to the announcement that actor Yasufumi Terawaki will be departing from the show sometime this season.
