Ninety-Nine’s Okamura on break for health reasons

Comedian Takashi Okamura (40) of the duo Ninety-Nine is going on an indefinite hiatus from work due to health reasons. His management office, Yoshimoto Creative Agency, announced the news on Thursday night.

Okamura has been experienced poor health since mid-May. He was scheduled to hold a one-man stage show in June and July, but the performances were canceled due to his condition, Although he continued doing other work, it was ultimately decided that he should take a complete break.

Yoshimoto mentioned that Okamura was admitted to the hospital for examinations on July 12, but the company has not disclosed what his illness is. It is not known when Okamura will be released from the hospital, much less return to work.

The two members of Ninety-nine are regulars on the television shows “Guruguru Ninety-Nine” and “Mecha-Mecha Iketeru!” as well as their radio show “Ninety-Nine no All Night Nippon.”
