“Ningen no Yakusoku” screenwriter passes away

Screenwriter Fukiko Miyauchi died of emphysema on Tuesday morning at her home in Mishima, Shizuoka. She was 76.

Miyauchi was best known for writing Mitsuo Wakasugi’s 1976 version of “Kaze Tachinu” (starring Momoe Yamaguchi and Tomokazu Miura), Shinichiro Sawai’s 1981 version of “Nogiku no Haka” (starring Seiko Matsuda), and Yoshishige Yoshida’s 1986 film “Ningen no Yakusoku” (starring Rentaro Mikuni).

Miyauchi also wrote for television dramas, including the NHK morning dramaIchibanboshi” in 1977, starring Haruna Takase and Michiko Godai.
