Mangaka Rin Inumaru, the author behind the popular Ojarumaru anime series, died on Sunday afternoon in Musashino, Tokyo. She jumped from the top of the 14-story apartment building she lived in onto the roof of a neighboring 5-story building. A man living in the eighth floor of the building heard a loud sound and stepped out onto the balcony. Upon seeing Inumaru’s body on the opposite rooftop, he called the police. They discovered notes addressed to her mother, indicating that she was having difficulty with her work. The incident is being investigated as a suicide.
