“Ore no Sora” drama series’ lead role to be chosen in open audition
Motomiya Hiroshi’s manga “Ore no Sora: Keiji-hen” is being turned into a drama series on TV Asahi. A special website created for the project has announced that the lead actor will be decided through a public audition.
The original “Ore no Sora” manga revolves around the growth of a young man named Yasuda Ippei, whose father is the leader of Japan’s greatest business conglomerate. In the “Keiji-hen” sequel, Yasuda becomes a passionate rookie police detective.
In 1998, Takeuchi Riki starred as Yasuda in a V-cinema adaptation of the manga.
For TV Asahi’s television drama version, producers are looking for an unsigned actor who will be between the ages of 18 and 30 as of May 31, 2011. The audition winner will get not only the starring role, but also 1 million yen in prize money.
TV Asahi has not yet announced when the drama will be broadcast.
