Pop group PENGIN announced on Tuesday on their official blog that they are taking a break from their activities. They did not specify how long they plan to be on hiatus.
PENGIN acknowledged that they have already not been active since last year, but they decided to make it official with this announcement. According to vocalist 346 (Sanshiro), the reason for the hiatus is not because of any kind of disagreement, but simply an opportunity to recharge as musicians and as people.
PENGIN was formed in Okinawa in 2000 by vocalists 346 and XICO, and they added DJ KATTO in 2002. They made their major label debut in 2008, and their biggest hit so far was their 3rd single “Asa ANSWER,” used as an ending theme song for the anime series “Gintama.”
