Rie Tomosaka suddenly divorces

Actress Rie Tomosaka (29) made a surprising revelation on her blog on Wednesday: she and actor/stage director Masahiko Kawahara (39) have divorced. The two have been married since April 2003, and Tomosaka gave birth to a son in October 2004.

In September 2007, had hinted at divorce on her blog due to their busy careers, but after reporters picked up the story, she responded on her blog that it was just paranoia.

As for the reason behind the actual divorce, Tomosaka said there was nothing in particular, and that the decision was amicable. She also declared that no matter what happens, she and Kawahara will still be the parents of their son.

On Kawahara’s blog, there were recently pictures of the three enjoying Christmas together, and as of Monday, Kawahara still referred to Tomosaka as his wife.
