Sachiko Suzuki announces self-suspension over scandal

Last Thursday, the tabloid Shukan Bunshun published an article on ex-Wink member Sachiko Suzuki (41), in which she admitted having a long affair with married stage actor Eisuke Tsuda (39). As a result of the scandal that followed, she updated her blog on Sunday to announce a self-imposed suspension from show business.

The Shukan Bunshun article revealed that the two started their affair in 2006 after appearing together in a play. Tsuda also appeared in “September Shock,” the softcore adult video starring Suzuki that was released last September.

The two worked together again on the movie “Shukumei no Geode,” which opened in theaters this past February. However, they reportedly broke up shortly after that. Tsuda had apparently told Suzuki that he would leave his wife, but he changed his mind and broke up with Suzuki, leading her to publicly reveal the affair.

After the article ran, Tsuda completely denied the story through his own blog. However, despite his denial, the circumstances have forced him to withdraw from an upcoming play.

On Sunday, Suzuki issued an apology on her blog for the trouble that she caused. She stated that in order to reflect on her actions, she is suspending herself from show business for now. Although she did not have any definite work scheduled in the near future, it is said that there were projects in the planning stages.

According to Suzuki’s agency (which also manages Tsuda), the suspension was a decision Suzuki made on her own.
