Saki Aibu causes minor collision

Actress Saki Aibu (24) caused a minor traffic accident on Monday night, it has been learned. No one involved was injured.

At around 7:40pm on Monday, Aibu was driving in the Kamiosaki area of Tokyo’s Shinagawa district. The accident took place on a straight road with two lanes in each direction and good visibility. However, Aibu was trying to change lanes as she approached an intersection, and she rear-ended a car stopped at the red light.

Aibu had two family members riding as passengers. None of them were hurt, nor was the 33-year-old male driver of the other car. Police are treating the incident as a traffic accident resulting in property damage.

Ironically, Aibu served as the poster model for a national traffic safety campaign last spring.
