NHK plans to broadcast a drama special based on the Seicho Matsumoto story “Kao.” Actor Shosuke Tanihara (37) will star.
Tanihara plays a struggling stage actor named Ryokichi Ino, who finally gets his big break when he is chosen for a major part in a movie. However, he begins to worry about an incident nine years ago, in which he murdered his pregnant girlfriend for the sake of his career. Believing that his face was seen at the time, he plots to commit a second murder to prevent the witness from recognizing his face on the big screen and exposing his crime.
