A few more details have been revealed about the AKB48 documentary movie that was announced last month. Most notably, the movie is being supervised by acclaimed director Shunji Iwai (“All About Lily Chou-Chou,” “Hana and Alice”), who previously directed the music video for the group’s song “Sakura no Shiori.”
The movie’s full title is “DOCUMENTARY of AKB48 to be continued: 10 Nen Go, Shoujotachi wa Ima no Jibun ni Nani wo Omou no Darou?” Female director Yuri Kanchiku (“Tenshi no Koi”) is in charge, with supervision from Iwai and planning from AKB48 producer Yasushi Akimoto.
