Yamada Naito’s manga “Ousama to Boku” is getting a live-action movie adaptation, starring “Kamen Rider W” actor Suda Masaki (18). The main cast also includes Matsuzaka Tori (23), Aiba Hiroki (24), and Nikaido Fumi (17).

Published in 1992, “Ousama to Boku” tells the story of a young man named Morio (Suda), who was involved in a serious accident when he was 6 years old. He finally regains consciousness 12 years later, though despite being 18 years old he still has the mind of a child. He meets again with his former best friend Mikihiko (Matsuzaka), who has anxieties about entering adulthood. Together, they remember their childhood days when they used to live “freely like kings.”

Nikaido plays Mikihiko’s girlfriend Kie, while Aiba plays his friend Tomonari.

Maeda Tetsu (“Buta ga Ita Kyoushitsu”) is directing. Theatrical release is planned for early fall 2012.
