Suzuka Ohgo stars in “Fukusuke” drama special

Young actress Suzuka Ohgo (16) will tackle her first true starring role in a Fuji TV drama special at the start of next year. Titled “Fukusuke,” the drama is adapted from a manga by Shizuka Ito that was published in 2007.

Ohgo plays the part of Rumiko, whose parents are in divorce arbitration, fighting over custody of Rumiko and her younger brother Tatsuhiko (played by 9-year-old Takeru Shibuya). Their mother (Momoko Kikuchi) takes them to a mountain village where their grandfather (Takashi Sasano) lives. There, the two unhappy kids encounter a “god of fortune” called Fukusuke (Arashi Fukasawa).

Other cast members include Yoichi Nukumizu, Golgo Matsumoto, and Kotomi Kyono. The show will be broadcast on the afternoon of January 4, 2010.
