TBS producing drama about Yubari

TBS is currently working on a drama special dealing with the troubles felt by residents in the bankrupt city of Yubari, Hokkaido.

Tentatively titled “Ofukuro-sensei no Yubari Shinryo Nikki,” the story takes place between last summer, when the city officially went bankrupt, and January of this year. Pinko Izumi stars as a doctor assigned to the city.

Filming is already under way. The drama is scheduled to air sometime in the spring.
