Tetsuya Bessho almost married, already a father

Actor Tetsuya Bessho (43) is the latest celebrity to surprise the entertainment world with a marriage announcement. He is scheduled to hold a press conference on Monday regarding the news that he is soon to be a husband and is already a father.

Bessho’s wife is an American woman of Japanese descent, said to be in her forties. Twenty years ago, Bessho visited Los Angeles for the filming of his silver screen debut – the 1990 movie “Solar Crisis,” starring Tim Matheson and Charlton Heston. A friend introduced Bessho to the woman there, who was a student at UCLA at the time. After graduation, she found a job in Japan, and the two of them continued their good friendship, which evolved into a serious relationship not too long ago.

Although the two are not yet formally married, the woman gave birth to their baby daughter on July 16. However, the birth is said to have been premature, and the child is currently being nursed in an NICU.

At Monday’s press conference, Bessho is expected to provide more details or clarifications about the news, including his marriage plans.
